Role of HPMC in bonded mortars

original 2021-11-18 11:23:59

HPMC acts as a water retaining and thickening agent in bonded mortars.

Water retention, improving the operating time of the mortar, reducing the rate of water loss in the mortar (especially at high temperatures and with drier substrates) and ensuring the hydration integrity of the cement.
Adhesion enhancement, to improve the workability of the mortar, to improve the adhesion of the mortar (especially with organic materials such as polystyrene sheets) and to ensure the effectiveness of the bonded area.

Welcel HPMC with excellent water retaining performance.
