Why use HPMC in tile adhesive
Why is high viscosity hydroxypropyl methylcellulose used as a tile adhesive and what does it do: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose has good thickening properties in putty powder, good water retention and bonding in cement mortar and glue. It has excellent wettability, dispersibility, adhesion, thickening, emulsification, water retention and film formation, as well as impermeability to grease.
Welcel HPMC is made from highly pure cotton cellulose, which is specially etherified under alkaline conditions, and the whole process is completed under automatic monitoring. The product is a non-ionic cellulose ether with a white powder appearance, odourless and tasteless. It has excellent wettability, dispersibility, adhesion, thickening, emulsification, water retention and moulding properties, as well as impermeability to oils and fats.
