HPMC IN MORTAR
For masonry mortars(plasters), workability, plasticity, and initial viscosity are several important properties. Adding methyl cellulose ether will greatly improve these properties even a small amount(a few thousandths). In cement and gypsum-based plaster, water is indispensable for the final hardening. Same as cement mortar, the water retention effect will make the mortar have higher bonding strength and hardness after curing.
Cellulose Ether with high water retention property can make the cement fully hydrated, significantly increase the bonding strength, and can also appropriately increase the tensile bonding strength and shear bonding strength of the hardened mortar. At the same time, it can significantly improve workability and lubricity, greatly improving the construction effect and improving work efficiency.
Furthermore, adding cellulose ether can obviously increase the bonding strength of mortar. Even if there is an obvious eccentric load or horizontal load, the tensile bonding strength and shear bonding strength will be relatively high
