Starch ethers in construction
1. Starch ethers are mainly used in construction mortars to influence the consistency of gypsum, cement and lime based mortars and to change the workability and sagging resistance of mortars. Starch ethers are usually used in combination with unmodified and modified cellulose ethers. It is suitable for both neutral and alkaline systems and is compatible with most additives in gypsum and cement products (e.g. surfactants, Mc, starch and water-soluble polymers such as polyvinyl acetate). 2. The main properties of starch ethers are: (1) improve sagging resistance; (2) improve workability; (3) higher mortar yields.
3. The main uses of starch ether are: (1) hand or machine spray mortar based on cement and gypsum; (2) jointing material and adhesive; (3) tile adhesive; (4) masonry mortar.
4. Reference dosage of starch ether and conventional recommended formula, the conventional dosage of starch ether in mortar is 0.01%-0.1%.
